This short slide show demonstrates how easy it
is to plan double star observations
These slides demonstrate planning to observe
double stars visible from an observer's location during the year with a
bright primary and reasonably close separations.
First,
open a Quick Star Report and select the double star catalog. A
description of all catalogs is included in the Deep-Sky Planner help file.
Select objects visible from an observer's location sometime during the year.
Second,
select pairs whose primary star is brighter than magnitude 6 and where the
pair is separated by 1 to 10 arc seconds.
Third,
sort by constellation, primary star magnitude and separation between
components.
Finally,
perform the search and review the results.
